Little Things - Rubicon 1.1

Mon, 01/27/2014 - 16:42 -- Anonymous (not verified)

Hello space friends!

As many of you know, we have a few forum threads where you guys have been telling us what minor Quality of Life changes (so-called "Little Things") you want to see in EVE Online. And as some of you also know, I've been going through these threads, picking out the ideas and implementing them. You can read about some of these changes in my previous devblogs:

HED-GP Technical Retrospective: What a HED-ache

Fri, 01/24/2014 - 18:05 -- Anonymous (not verified)

Hello spacefriends, your local technical director and performance explainerer here. As a few of you may know, we had a fight recently in HED-GP. Not the first time that's happened and probably not the last, but it's quite notable as it was moderately gigantic in scale and the performance of the server was, well, not pretty. I'd like to talk today a bit about why that was from the technical standpoint.

Contributing to the EVE Online community can take many forms. People have blogs, podcasts, guides, fiction, and more. Many people specialize in one form or the other. But there are a few people who have gone above and beyond and contribute to EVE in multiple ways. One of those people is Kirith Kodachi, who in his 7 year EVE Online career has produced an amazing amount of content for the EVE community.

More Deployables from Super Friends

Tue, 01/14/2014 - 17:35 -- Anonymous (not verified)

Hello Capsuleers! This is CCP SoniClover  fresh from my holiday hibernation to tell you all about what shenanigans Team Super Friends is up to for the Rubicon point release due at the end of January.

What you will see from us in 1.1 can be neatly divided into two parts – couple of variations of siphon units on one hand and a new deployable called Encounter Surveillance System on the other.

Put the Siphon

Let’s start with the siphon variations. There are two of them, both also small like the one released in Rubicon.

New Player Training Sessions Track #3: Industry

Tue, 01/14/2014 - 11:40 -- Anonymous (not verified)

With the coming of the New Year, it’s time for a fresh New Player Training Session track! We’ve had two successful ones so far, introducing hundreds of new players (and a few veterans!) to the mechanics of combat and exploration. We topped both of those tracks off with amazing fleets that produced explosions, laughs, and even a song.

Community Spotlight: Red vs Blue

Fri, 01/10/2014 - 05:16 -- Anonymous (not verified)

New Eden is a universe of war. No matter where you go, someone is fighting someone else. Whether it is two corporations battling for a Customs Office over a valuable planet, militias dueling inside a complex to capture it for their favored faction, alliances in a border skirmish, or two massive powerblocs deploying hundreds of supercapitals to contest territory, war is perpetual. Two corporations have taken this to its logical conclusion.

Community Spotlight: Staticmapper

Fri, 01/03/2014 - 21:19 -- Anonymous (not verified)

Wormhole space can be a mysterious and difficult world to enter. There are no jump gates and systems aren’t put together in regions or constellations to help you keep track of where you are. Even system names are arcane and difficult to remember. When you consider wormhole classes, system effects, and more, you may never know what you’re getting into when you jump into a system.

But for those explorers who want to risk the danger, Staticmapper helps take some of the unknown out of the process.
